Description

Make these no-bake Easter Egg Oreo Cookie Balls! Creamy, chocolate-coated treats perfect for Easter celebrations. Easy & delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14.3 oz package Golden Oreos crushed into crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 10 oz white candy coating
  • 1 oz additional white candy coating for each color for decorating
  • Gel icing colors

Instructions

  1. Crush the Golden Oreo cookies into crumbs using a food processor or blender.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and cookie crumbs until mixed well. You should be able to shape it into balls easily.
  3. Using about 1 and a half tablespoons of the mixture, form Easter egg shapes.
  4. Place the eggs in the refrigerator for about one hour to firm up.
  5. After chilling, melt the 10 ounces of white candy coating and dip the chilled eggs into it. Place them on parchment paper to dry. Use a toothpick for dipping and gently twist it out when done. Use a little melted candy to cover the hole made by the toothpick.
  6. Once dried, decorate the eggs. Melt about 1 ounce of each color you plan to use. If using one color, have about 3-4 ounces of white candy coating ready. After melting, add gel icing color until you reach your desired shade, then pipe or drizzle the colors over the eggs.
  7. Store the Oreo eggs in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about one week.

Notes

  • Use Softened Cream Cheese: Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing and a smooth texture.
  • Chill Before Dipping: Refrigerate the Oreo eggs for at least 1 hour before coating to prevent them from falling apart in the melted chocolate.
  • Melting Chocolate Tip: Melt candy coating in short 20-second bursts in the microwave, stirring in between, to avoid overheating.
  • Smooth Coating Trick: Use a toothpick or dipping tool for even coating, and gently tap off excess chocolate.
  • Decorating Ideas: Drizzle with pastel-colored chocolate, add Easter sprinkles, or dust with edible glitter for a festive look.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
  • Flavor Variations: Experiment with Mint Oreos, Lemon Oreos, or Birthday Cake Oreos for different flavors.
  • No Food Processor? Crush Oreos in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin as an alternative.
  • Make-Ahead Friendly: These Oreo balls are great for meal prep and can be made in advance for Easter parties.
