Description

You’ll love this Dollywood Cinnamon Bread with Icing! It’s so easy to make and perfect for cozy family mornings. I try it on weekends, and it fills the house with the sweetest aroma!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • 2 tablespoons milk for icing
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
  4. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
  6. Pour half of the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top and then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. For the icing, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Drizzle the icing over the warm bread before serving.

Notes

Flour Choice: If you want a softer texture, try using cake flour instead of all-purpose flour.

Sweetness Level: Adjust the sugar to your preference—reduce for a lighter sweetness or increase for extra indulgence.

Dairy-Free Option: Swap the milk with almond or oat milk and use dairy-free butter.

Extra Moisture: Add a tablespoon of sour cream or yogurt for an even softer bread.

Icing Thickness: If you prefer a thicker icing, add more powdered sugar; for a thinner drizzle, add more milk.

Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.

Reheating Tip: Warm slices in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to bring back the fresh-from-the-oven taste!
