- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Burger buns
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic; cook for an additional minute.
- Add ground chicken and Cajun seasoning; cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
- Pour in tomato sauce; stir until well combined and simmer for a few minutes.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
- Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto burger buns and serve hot.
Notes
Substitute ground turkey for ground chicken for a leaner option. Use whole grain or lettuce wraps instead of buns for fewer carbohydrates.
