Description

A flavorful twist on traditional sloppy joes, combining ground chicken with Cajun spices for a quick and tasty meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic; cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add ground chicken and Cajun seasoning; cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce; stir until well combined and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  7. Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto burger buns and serve hot.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey for ground chicken for a leaner option. Use whole grain or lettuce wraps instead of buns for fewer carbohydrates.
