These brownie truffles are a must-try! They’re so easy to make and perfect for a cozy family gathering. Treat yourself this weekend with these sweet bites of joy! Happy baking!
Ingredients
1 18.3 oz box fudge brownie mix, heat treated
8 oz block of cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
1 ½ cup chocolate melting wafers
1 tablespoon crisco shortening
½ cup white chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
1. Prepare a large cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, cream together the brownie mix, cream cheese, sea salt, and vanilla extract until fully combined and dough-like.
3. Using a 1 ½ inch cookie scoop, scoop the mixture and roll into 1 to 1 ½ inch balls. Use the palms of your hands to smooth and round each ball. Do this until the mixture is completely used.
4. Place each truffle ball on the sheet of parchment paper and place inside the refrigerator for 1 hour.
5. About 5-10 minutes before the chilling time is complete, prepare your melting chocolate by adding the chocolate wafers to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat wafers on 50% power for 1 minute and stir when completed. Add 1 tablespoon of crisco shortening and return to the microwave for 30 second intervals on 50% power, stirring in between each turn. Do this until the wafers are silky smooth and fully melted.
6. Using two forks or dipping tools, dip each truffle ball into the melted chocolate, covering it completely.
7. Place each chocolate-covered truffle on parchment paper and repeat the process for all truffles.
8. Place inside the refrigerator and allow to cool for an additional 30 minutes.
9. When the truffles have almost finished chilling, repeat step 5 for the white chocolate melting wafers.
10. Using a piping bag or small plastic Ziploc bag, pipe white chocolate lines over each truffle, moving the bag back and forth.
11. Repeat this process for all truffles one at a time before placing them in the refrigerator to chill for an additional 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure Even Mixing: When combining the brownie mix, cream cheese, and other ingredients, make sure the mixture is thoroughly blended to avoid uneven texture. If needed, use an electric mixer for a smoother consistency.
Chill for Best Results: Proper chilling of the truffles before and after coating in chocolate ensures they hold their shape and set correctly. If the mixture is too soft to roll into balls, refrigerate it for an additional 10-15 minutes to firm it up.
Tempering the Chocolate: When melting the chocolate wafers, use a microwave at 50% power to avoid burning. Stir frequently to ensure the chocolate melts evenly. Adding Crisco shortening helps create a smooth, glossy finish on the truffles.
White Chocolate Drizzle: The white chocolate drizzle is a decorative touch. To get nice, thin lines, make sure the chocolate is melted to a smooth consistency and use a piping bag or a small Ziploc bag with the tip snipped off for precision.
